Citation, commencement and interpretation E+W+S

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security Benefits (Maintenance Payments and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 19th April 1996.

(2) In these Regulations—

• “the Act" means the Social Security Administration Act 1992;

• [F1 “the Employment and Support Allowance Regulations” means the Employment and Support Allowance Regulations 2008;]

• “the Income Support Regulations" means the Income Support (General) Regulations 1987 M1 ;

• “the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations" means the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996 M2 .
