Exemption of housing management
2. The housing management work(1) of the council of the district of Bath and North East Somerset shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is undertaken during the period beginning with 1 April 1998 and ending on 31 August 1999.

See section 2 subsections (2)(h) and (6) of, and paragraph 9 of Schedule 1 to, the Local Government Act 1988. Subsection (2)(h) was added, and subsection (6) was substituted, by the Local Government (Competition)(Defined Activities)(Housing Management) Order 1994 (S.I. 1994/1671), articles 2 and 3 respectively. Paragraph 9 of Schedule 1 was added by article 2 of S.I. 1994/1671 and additional words were inserted into that paragraph by paragraph 4 of the Schedule to the Housing Act 1996 (Consequential Amendments) Order 1997 (S.I. 1997/74).
