The Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 1997

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 99(1) of the Supreme Court Act 19811 and section 2(1) of the County Courts Act 19842, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 27th March 1997.

Interpretation2

In this Order, “the 1983 Order” means the Civil Courts Order 19833, and a Schedule referred to by number alone means the Schedule so numbered in that Order.

Amendments to the 1983 Order

In Schedule 1 “Ammanford” shall be deleted from its position in the second column opposite the entry for “Carmarthen” in the first column.

In Schedule 3, the entry relating to “Ammanford” shall be deleted4

This Order amends the Civil Courts Order 1983 so as to close the County Court at Ammanford.
