ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Article 2 of this Order varies section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to enable the Secretary of State, with the consent of the Treasury, to give financial assistance to, or for the purposes of, Environmental Campaigns Ltd, a company limited by guarantee whose main objects are:to protect, preserve and enhance the environments of town and country in the United Kingdom;to educate the public and promote awareness of the ways in which the environment is at risk and of ways in which this can be minimised; andto support the work of the Tidy Britain Group and Going for Green registered charities.
