The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 29(1) and 198(2) of the Licensing Act 1964(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Licensing (Fees) (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 1st February 1998.
2. The Schedule to the Licensing (Fees) Order 1978(2) shall be amended by inserting after the entry relating to transfer (sections 8, 138 and 145), the following entries;
“Approval of prospective licensee—s.8A(3) ... ... ... ... | £30 |
Grant of interim authority—s.9A ... ... ... ... | £10”. |

This Order amends the Licensing (Fees) Order 1978 by prescribing the fees chargeable for the approval of a prospective licensee (£30) and the grant of an interim authority (£10). Sections 8A and 9A of the Licensing Act 1964, which provide for these matters, were inserted by the Deregulation (Licence Transfers) Order 1998 (S.I. 1998/114).
