The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 1 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 19981 and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, and having regard to the matters specified in section 2(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations–

These Regulations may be cited as the Wireless Telegraphy (Licence Charges) (Amendment No. 3) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 20th July 1998.

The Wireless Telegraphy (Licence Charges) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 19982 are hereby amended by substituting the following paragraph for regulation 2(b)–

in regulation 5(3), the following paragraph shall be inserted into the list of classes in relation to the definition of “relevant licence”–

These Regulations substitute a new regulation 2(b) in the Wireless Telegraphy (Licence Charges) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1998 (S.I. 1998/1567) for the purpose of applying the appropriate sub-division lettering to the new licence class of On-Site Private Business Radio in regulation 5(3) of the Wireless Telegraphy (Licence Charges) Regulations 1995 (S.I. 1995/1331, as amended by S.I.s 1996/1464, 1997/1006, 1997/1885, 1998/460 and 1998/1567).
