Coming into force

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions (as respects England), the Secretary of State for Scotland (as respects Scotland) and the Secretary of State for Wales (as respects Wales), in exercise of the powers conferred by section 91(1) of the Transport Act 19851 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:–

These Regulations may be cited as the Service Subsidy Agreements (Tendering) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 5th October 1998.

The Service Subsidy Agreements (Tendering) Regulations 19852 are amended as follows.

In regulation 3(1)(b)–

a

for “10,000”, in both places where it occurs, there shall be substituted “£12,000”, and

b

in paragraph (iii) for “£50,000” there shall be substituted “£70,000”.

These Regulations amend the Service Subsidy (Tendering) Regulations 1985 so as to increase the financial threshold by reference to which certain service subsidy agreements are excluded from the tendering requirements of section 89(1) of the Transport Act 1985.
