These Regulations set out the procedure to be followed by the Secretary of State in making an order or orders designating foundation or voluntary schools as schools which have a religious character under section 69 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (“the Act”).

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 69(5) and 138(7) of the School Standards and Framework Act 19981, the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
