These Regulations amend the Child Support (Maintenance Assessment Procedure) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/1813) (“the 1992 Regulations") and the Child Support Departure Direction and Consequential Amendments Regulations 1996 (S.I. 1996/2907) (“the 1996 Regulations"). They are made in consequence of the amendments to the Child Support Act 1991 (c. 48) effected by the Social Security Act 1998 (c. 14) which alter the way child support decisions are made and changed at first tier.
