(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order rectifies an omission in the Criminal Justice Act 1993 (Commencement No. 10) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/1189), by bringing into force the remaining provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 1993 extending the jurisdiction of courts in England and Wales in relation to certain offences of dishonesty and blackmail on 1st June 1999. By virtue of section 78(5) of the Act, nothing in any of those provisions applies to any act, omission or other event occurring before that date.
