2. In this Order,:
“the Act” means the Juries Act 1974(1);
“contracted-out function” means any function which is the subject of an authorisation given in accordance with article 3(1) of this Order and “authorised contractor” means the person to whom, and to whose employees, that authorisation is given;
“relevant functions” means
the functions of the Lord Chancellor under section 2 of the Act(2), in so far as those functions involve the production and posting of jury summonses; and
the signing of certificates of posting under section 2(6) of the Act.
