This Order provides for the coming into force on 4th March 1999 of powers under sections 54, 56(2), 57, 60, 61 and 63 of the Social Security Act 1998 (c. 14) (“the Act”) enabling Regulations and schemes to be made relating to national insurance contributions.
It further provides for those sections, in so far as not brought into force on 4th March 1999, and following the provisions of the Act to come into force on 6th April 1999—
sections 56(1), 62 and 64;
section 86(1) in so far as it relates to paragraphs 12 to 14, 85, 86(1), (2)(b), (3)(b) and (5), 87, 99(2) and 100(2) of Schedule 7;
section 86(2) in so far as it relates to certain repeals consequential upon the coming into force of the above provisions.
All the provisions brought into force by this Order relate to national insurance contributions.
This Order does not impose a charge on business.
