The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 12A(1) of and paragraphs 1 and 3(1)(b) of Schedule 7A to the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 19781, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Renfrewshire Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 25th March 1999.

In this Order “the principal Order” means the Renfrewshire Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 19932.
Amendment of Article 3 of the principal Order2
For article 3 of the principal Order there shall be substituted the following:–

The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 12A(1) of the Act3.

The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more health boards) shall be–
a
to own and manage under section 12A(1)(a) of the Act the hospital establishments or facilities known as Dykebar Hospital and Hawkhead Hospital, both in Paisley, Bridge of Weir Hospital, Merchiston Hospital and Johnstone Hospital, both in Johnstone and Ravenscraig Hospital, Greenock, and establishments associated with those hospitals, including management of the facilities provided at and from those establishments, and also including the management of any teaching and research facilities associated with these establishments and the support services related thereto; and
b
to provide and manage under section 12A(1)(b) of the Act a new inpatient and day hospital facility on land adjacent to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Larkfield Road, Greenock.
