The Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment) Order 2000

The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred by section 1 of the Import, Export and Customs Powers (Defence) Act 1939(1) and now vested in him(2), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 24th January 2000.

2.  The following Orders shall be revoked.

(a)The Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 4) Order 1999(3).

(b)The Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 5) Order 1999(4).

3.  “Indonesia” shall be removed from Schedule 3 to the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1994(5).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order further amends the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1994 by removing Indonesia from the list of countries to which arms in transit through the United Kingdom may not be exported without a licence. Consequently the Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 4) Order 1999 and the Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 5) Order 1999 have been revoked.
