12.—(1) The Representation of the People Act 1983(1) shall be amended as follows.
(2) In section 76—
(a)in subsection (1) after “in this section” there shall be inserted “or, as respects an Authority election, under subsection (2A)(a), (b) or (c) below”; and
(b)in subsection (1A)(a) for “specified in this section” there shall be substituted “specified under subsection (2A)(d) below”.
(3) Section 189A shall be omitted.
Section 76 was amended by paragraph 20, and section 189A was inserted by paragraph 37, of Schedule 3 to the Greater London Authority 1999.
