The Rules of the Air (Amendment) Regulations 2000

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by article 84(1) of the Air Navigation Order 20001 and all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Rules of the Air (Amendment) Regulations 2000, and shall come into force on 14th August 2000.

The Schedule to the Rules of the Air Regulations 19962 shall be amended as follows:

After Rule 27(2) there shall be inserted:

Any flight plan for a flight within United Kingdom reduced vertical separation minimum airspace shall also state whether or not the aircraft is equipped with height keeping systems as required by articles 48 or 49 of the Air Navigation Order 2000.

After Rule 31(2) there shall be inserted:

These Regulations further amend the Rules of the Air Regulations 1996. Before flying within airspace notified as United Kingdom reduced vertical separation minimum airspace pursuant to Article 48 of the Air Navigation Order 2000, an aircraft must file a flight plan which discloses whether or not it is equipped with specified height keeping systems.
