The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 2(1) of the Carriage by Air Act 19611 (which provides that Her Majesty may by Order in Council from time to time certify, inter alia, who are the High Contracting Parties to the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, 1955, as further amended by Protocol No. 4 of Montreal, 1975, relating to international carriage by air, and in respect of what territories they are respectively parties) and by section 2(4) of that Act (which provides that an Order in Council under section 2 may contain such transitional and other consequential provisions as appear to Her Majesty to be expedient), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

This Order may be cited as the Carriage by Air (Parties to Protocol No. 4 of Montreal, 1975) Order 2000.

It is hereby certified that the High Contracting Parties to the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, 1955, as further amended by Protocol No. 4 of Montreal, 1975, and the territories in respect of which they are respectively parties, are as specified in the Schedule to this Order.

The Carriage by Air Act 1961, as amended by the Carriage by Air Acts (Implementation of Protocol No. 4 of Montreal, 1975) Order 1999, gives effect in the United Kingdom to the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, 1955, as further amended by Protocol No. 4 of Montreal, 1975, relating to international carriage by air.

Under section 2(1) of the Act, as amended, Her Majesty may by Order in Council from time to time certify, among other things, who are the High Contracting Parties to the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, as further amended by Protocol No. 4 of Montreal, 1975, and such an Order is conclusive evidence of the matters so certified. This Order certifies those Parties.
