The Adoption (Intercountry Aspects) Act 1999 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2000 1Citation and interpretation 2Appointed day 2000 No. 52 (C. 1) CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS, ENGLAND AND WALES The Adoption (Intercountry Aspects) Act 1999 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2000 Made 10th January 2000 The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 18(3) of the Adoption (Intercountry Aspects) Act 1999, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:— 1999 c. 18. The power of the Secretary of State under section 18(3) to appoint a day for the coming into force any of the provisions of the Act is by virtue of section 16(1) exercisable only after consultation with the National Assembly for Wales. In relation to Scotland, the power is exercisable by a member of the Scottish Executive by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46).
