Amendment of Principal Regulations19
In regulation E6–
a
for paragraph (3) there shall be substituted the following paragraph–

Subject to paragraph (4), where–
a
a person who has become entitled to the payment of retirement benefits by virtue of regulation E4(5) has ceased to be in pensionable or excluded employment on or after 1st September 1997, or
b
a person has become entitled to payment of retirement benefits by virtue of regulation E4(5A),
the amount of the person’s retirement lump sum shall be the amount calculated in accordance with paragraphs (1) and (2) multiplied by the appropriate factor.
b
in paragraph (4) after “does not apply where” there shall be inserted the words “in the case of a person who falls within paragraph (3)(a)”.
