This Order provides for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Care Standards Act 2000 (c. 14) in so far as they relate to the General Social Care Council—paragraph 6 of Schedule 1, which enables the Secretary of State by regulations to make provision for the appointment to and the procedure of the Council, on 10th April 2001;section 54(1)(a), (4), (5) and (7) on 7th May 2001;Schedule 1, paragraphs 1 to 5, 7, 8, 12 to 14, 16, and 18 to 26 and section 54(6) in so far as it relates to them, on 7th May 2001;sections 59, 60, 62, 63, 65, 66 and 71 on 7th May 2001, but only for the purposes of making rules and preparing codes of practice.
