The Civil Procedure (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2001

Coming into force in accordance with rule 1
The Civil Procedure Rule Committee, having power under section 2 of the Civil Procedure Act 19971 to make rules of court under section 1 of that Act, after consulting in accordance with section 2(6)(a) of that Act, make the following Rules—

These Rules may be cited as the Civil Procedure (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2001 and shall come into force—
a
for the purposes of rules 2 and 3 and this rule, on 31st May 2001; and
b
for the purposes of rule 4, on 15th October 2001.

The following rules are revoked—
a
rule 11 of the Civil Procedure (Amendment) Rules 20012; and
b
rule 11 of the Civil Procedure (Amendment No. 2) Rules 20013.

Rule 22.1(1) of the Civil Procedure Rules 19984 is amended to read—

The following documents must be verified by a statement of truth—
a
a statement of case;
b
a response complying with an order under rule 18.1 to provide further information;
c
a witness statement; and
d
an acknowledgement of service in a claim begun by way of the Part 8 procedure.

Rule 22.1(1) of the Civil Procedure Rules 1998 is further amended to read—

The following documents must be verified by a statement of truth—
a
a statement of case;
b
a response complying with an order under rule 18.1 to provide further information;
c
a witness statement;
d
an acknowledgement of service in a claim begun by way of the Part 8 procedure; and
e
a certificate stating the reasons for bringing a possession claim or a landlord and tenant claim in the High Court in accordance with rules 55.3(2) and 56.2(2).
