This Order brings into force, certain provisions of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

This Order brings into force, certain provisions of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
On 19th February 2001, section 22 is commenced for the purposes of laying a draft code before Parliament and of making subordinate legislation.
On 2 April 2001, the following provisions are commenced, so far as not already in force:
a
all of the provisions of Part VIII (Detention Centres and Detained Persons);
b
Schedule 11 which contains provisions relating to detainee custody officers;
c
Schedule 12 which contains provisions relating to discipline at detention centres;
d
Schedule 13 which contains provisions relating to escort arrangements.
