Coming into force in accordance with rule 1

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 132(3) and 137(6) of, and paragraph 9 of Schedule 13 to, the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000(1), and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with the Council on Tribunals in accordance with section 8 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992(2), makes the following Rules:

1992 c. 53. By virtue of paragraph 18 of Schedule 1 to the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992, as amended by paragraph 6(2) of Schedule 20 to the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal is a tribunal under the general supervision of the Council on Tribunals. Other amendments made to section 8 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992 are not relevant to these Rules.
