The Family Health Services Appeal Authority (Change of Name) Order 2001

Coming into force
The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 11(4) and 126(3) and (4) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Family Health Services Appeal Authority (Change of Name) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 24th November 2001.

In this Order—
“the Establishment Order” means the Family Health Services Appeal Authority (Establishment and Constitution) Order2;
“the Regulations” means the Family Health Services Appeal Authority Regulations3;
“the Health Service Commissioner Order” means the Health Service Commissioner (Family Health Services Appeal Authority) Order4;
“the Special Health Authority” means the Special Health Authority established by article 2 of the Establishment Order.
Change of name of the Special Health Authority2
The name by which the Special Health Authority is known is changed to the Family Health Services Appeal Authority (Special Health Authority).
Consequential and transitional provisions3

In the Establishment Order, the Regulations or the Health Service Commissioner Order for the name “Family Health Services Appeal Authority” wherever it is used the name “Family Health Services Appeal Authority (Special Health Authority)” shall be substituted.

The change of name under this Order shall not—
a
affect any right or obligation of any person, or
b
be taken as invalidating any instrument (whether made before, on or after the day on which this Order comes into force) which refers to the Special Health Authority by its previous name and all instruments and other documents which refer to it under its previous name shall be construed as referring to it under its new name.
