The Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) (No. 2) Order 2001

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by sections 21(8) and 51(4) of the Gaming Act 1968(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) (No. 2) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 14th January 2002.

(2) This Order extends to England and Wales and Scotland.

2.  It is hereby directed that paragraph (c) of section 21(2) of the Gaming Act 1968(2) (conditions on which gaming for prizes is permitted at licensed club premises) shall have effect as if for the sum specified in that paragraph there were substituted the sum of £25.

3.  Article 4(c) of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1999(3) is hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order increases the maximum cash prize that may be offered in a prize bingo game played in a bingo club from £15 to £25.

By virtue of S.I. 1999/1260, paragraph (c) currently has effect as if £15 were substituted for the sum specified in that paragraph.
