Work Nos.1 & 1A

• A railway approximately 6.9 kilometres in length commencing in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale at the junction with the railway of Railtrack at a point 470 metres east of Green Lane level crossing and terminating in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury at a junction with the light railway authorised by the 1986 Order at a point 28 metres east of the bridge carrying Knowsley Street over that light railway.

Work No. 2

• A railway being a branch of the said light railway commencing by a junction with Work No. 1 and running 306 metres in a north-westerly direction before terminating in a junction with that railway.

Work No. 3

• A railway 140 metres in length commencing by a junction with Work No. 2 132 metres from its commencement and curving in a south-westerly direction before terminating in a junction with the said light railway.
