2. The following provisions of the Local Government Act 2000 shall come into force on 27th July 2002—
(a)section 90;
(b)in Schedule 6 the repeal of—
(i)in section 80(1)(e) of the Local Government Act 1972(1), the words “or under the Audit Commission Act 1998”;
(ii)in section 16(1)(a) of the Audit Commission Act 1998(2), the words “or 18”;
(iii)section 17(1)(b) of that Act and “and” preceding it;
(iv)in section 17(2) of that Act, the words “subject to subsection (3)” and paragraphs (a) and (b) and the word “and” following paragraph (b);
(v)section 17(3), (5)(b), (7) and (8) of that Act; and
(vi)section 18(3) of that Act.
1998 c. 18. Section 17 was amended by paragraphs 1, 6(1) and (2)(a) of Schedule 8 to and section 133 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 and by Schedule 7 to and section 137 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001.
Section 18 was amended by paragraph 7 of Schedule 8 to the Greater London Authority Act 1999.
