The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 2(2)(b) of the Gaming (Bingo) Act 1985(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming (Bingo) Act (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 2002.
(2) This Order shall come into force on 12th August 2002.
2. The sum of £2,000,000 is hereby specified for the purposes of section 2(2)(b) of the Gaming (Bingo) Act 1985 as the maximum amount which may be paid as a prize in respect of a game of multiple bingo.
3. The Gaming (Bingo) Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1998(2) is hereby revoked.

This Order provides that the maximum amount to be paid as a prize in respect of a game of multiple bingo shall be £2,000,000. It replaces the limit of £500,000 specified for the purposes of section 2(2)(b) of the Gaming (Bingo) Act 1985 by the Gaming (Bingo) Act (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 1998 (S.I. 1998/2153).
