The State Pension Credit Act (Commencement No. 2) Order 2002

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 22(3) of the State Pension Credit Act 2002(1) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation
1. This Order may be cited as the State Pension Credit Act (Commencement No. 2) Order 2002.
Appointed day
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of section 18 of the State Pension Credit Act 2002 is 3rd September 2002.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order appoints 3rd September 2002 as the day for the coming into force of section 18 of the State Pension Credit Act 2002. Section 18 amends the Pension Schemes Act 1993 to provide for equal treatment for widows and widowers in connection with the treatment of their guaranteed minimum pensions.
This Order does not impose any costs on business.
