SCHEDULE 1 AMENDMENTS CONSEQUENTIAL ON PART 1 OF THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE REFORM AND HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONS ACT 2002

Access to Health Records Act 1990

17.  In section 11 of the Access to Health Records Act 1990 (interpretation)(1)—

(a) in paragraph (a) of the definition of “health service body”, for “a Health Authority” there is substituted “a Strategic Health Authority, Health Authority”; and

(b) after the definition of “Special Health Authority” there is inserted—

““Strategic Health Authority” means a Strategic Health Authority established under section 8 of the National Health Service Act 1977.”.

1990 c. 23; the 1995 Act, Schedule 1, paragraph 119(4) inserted the definition of “Special Health Authority” and substituted paragraph (a) of the definition of “health service body”; paragraph (a) of that definition was also amended by the 2000 Order, Schedule 1, paragraph 25.
