The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 19(1) of the Animal Health Act 2002(1) hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Animal Health Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2002.E+W
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of—E+W
(a)sections 1 to 15, and 17 of, and the Schedule to, the Animal Health Act 2002 is 14th January 2003;
(b)section 16 of that Act is 1st July 2003;
(c)section 18 of that Act is 24th March 2003.

This Order provides for the coming into force on 14th January 2003 of the following provisions of the Animal Health Act 2002 (c. 42)—

In addition section 16 of the Animal Health Act 2002 (which relates to bio security guidance) is brought into force on 1st July 2003 and section 18 of that Act (which relates to the National contingency plan) is brought into force on 24th March 2003.
