The Police Act 1997 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2002

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 135 of the Police Act 19971, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and extent1

This Order may be cited as the Police Act 1997 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2002.

The Order extends to England and Wales.

Commencement on 1st March 20022

The following provisions of the Police Act 1997 shall come into force on 1st March 2002.

those provisions are—

a

Part V (which consists of sections 112 to 127) except—

i

section 112, and

ii

to the extent that it is already in force;

b

section 134 (amendments and repeals), in respect of paragraph 65 of Schedule 9 and in respect of the entry in Schedule 10 relating to the Road Traffic Act 1991;

c

paragraph 65 of Schedule 9; and

d

Schedule 10 in respect of the entry relating to the Road Traffic Act 1991.

This Order, which extends to England and Wales, brings into force on 1st March 2002 those provisions of Part V of the Police Act 1997, except section 112, which are not already in force together with an associated repeal.
