This Order describes for the purposes of the Northern Ireland Act 1998—
a
the boundary between the parts of the territorial sea of the United Kingdom which are to be treated as adjacent to Northern Ireland and the parts which are not to be so treated (article 2), and
b
the boundary between the parts of the sea within British fishery limits which are to be treated as adjacent to Northern Ireland and the parts which are not to be so treated (article 3).
The part of the sea within British fishery limits which is to be treated as adjacent to Northern Ireland under article 3 forms the Northern Ireland zone. A map showing the line of the boundary described by article 3 for illustrative purposes only is appended to this note.
