The State Pension Credit Act 2002 (Commencement No.5) and Appointed Day Order 2003

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 22(3) of the State Pension Credit Act 20021, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation1.

This Order may be cited as the State Pension Credit Act 2002 (Commencement No.5) and Appointed Day Order 2003.

Appointed day2.

The day appointed for—

(a)

the coming into force of the State Pension Credit Act 2002 (in so far as not already in force); and

(b)

the purposes of section 13 of that Act,

is 6th October 2003.

This Order brings into force on 6th October 2003 those provisions of the State Pension Credit Act 2002 (“the Act”) which are not already in force and appoints that day as “appointed day” for the purposes of section 13 of the Act (transitional provisions). Section 18 of the Act was brought into force by the State Pension Credit Act 2002 (Commencement No.2) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/2248 (C.72)). Sections 11 and 21 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Act were brought into force on 7th April 2003 (to the extent specified in the State Pension Credit Act 2002 (Commencement No.4) Order 2003 (S.I.2003/966 (C.52)), by that Order.

This Order does not impose any costs on business.
