Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Transport, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 19731 and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 19882, and in exercise of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 11th August 2003.

Increases in fees2

In regulation 3 of the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 19863 for “£259” there shall be substituted “£267” and for “ £105” there shall be substituted “£108”.

These Regulations amend the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986 so as to increase the fees for the approval of fitters or workshops for the installation or repair of recording equipment (tachographs).

The fee for the issue of an approval is increased by 3.1% from £259 to £267 and for the renewal of an approval by 2.9% from £105 to £108.
