The length of the trunk road ceasing to be trunk road is situated between the Liverpool City boundary, just north of the junction with Ensor Street in Bootle, and the junction with Coastal Road/Liverpool Road/Moor Lane, east of Woodvale and is shown by broad black dashes on the plans numbered HA 10/OD/367, marked “The A565 Trunk Road (Bootle-Southport) (Detrunking) Order 2003” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, and deposited at the DfT Records Management Branch, Ashdown House, St Leonards-on-Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
