This Order may be cited as the A679 Trunk Road (Halifax-Burnley) (Detrunking) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st April 2004.

In this Order—
i
“principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and
ii
“the trunk road” means the Halifax-Burnley Trunk Road (A679)

The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which this order comes into force.

THE SCHEDULELENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD
The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between the junction with the A646 Rossendale Road/Rosegrove Lane and the roundabout near Knotts Bridge, north east of the M65 at junction 9 and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA 10/OD/374, marked “A679 Trunk Road (Halifax-Burnley) (Detrunking) Order 2003” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, and deposited at the DfT Records Management Branch, Ashdown House, St. Leonards-on-Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
