The Public Records (Designation of Bodies) Order 2003

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the power conferred on Her by paragraph 3A of Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 19581, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Public Records (Designation of Bodies) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st April 2003.

Amendments to Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 19582.

In Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 1958 (definition of public records), in Part II of the Table at the end of paragraph 3, at the appropriate alphabetical place insert—

  • “British Council.”

  • “Disability Rights Commission.”

  • “The Simpler Trade Procedures Board.”.

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends Part II of the Table at the end of paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 1958 by adding entries for—

(i)

the British Council;

(ii)

the Disability Rights Commission; and

(iii)

The Simpler Trade Procedures Board.

The administrative and departmental records of each of these bodies thereby become public records.
