LAND REGISTRATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 136(2) of the Land Registration Act 2002(1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Land Registration Act 2002 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2003.
2. Sections 128 to 132, 134(1) and 136 of the Land Registration Act 2002 shall come into force on 4th April 2003.

This Order brings into force on 4th April 2003 the following provisions of the Land Registration Act 2002 (“the Act”)—
section 128, which contains supplementary provisions relating to the making of secondary legislation under the Act;
section 129, which provides that the Act binds the Crown;
section 130, which relates to the Act’s application to internal waters;
sections 131 and 132, which relate to the interpretation of the Act;
section 134(1), which confers power to make transitional provisions; and
section 136, which contains the Act’s short title, commencement and extent provisions.
