The Secretary of State, being the Minister designated M1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 M2 in relation to the making of measures relating to basic safety standards for the health protection of the general public and workers against the dangers of ionising radiation, exercising the powers in that section M3 makes the following Regulations:

As regards Scotland, the Secretary of State’s power to act under that section is preserved by section 57(1) of the Scotland Act 1998 c. 46.
