Provisions coming into force2

The following provisions of the 2004 Act are in force—

a

section 1 (establishing the Authority);

b

section 2 (directions given to the Authority by the Secretary of State);

c

section 3 (work to which the 2004 Act applies);

d

section 4 (defining what is meant by “acting as a gangmaster”);

e

section 5 (defining the territorial scope of application of the 2004 Act);

f

section 6(2) (power to make regulations specifying when a licence is not required);

g

section 10 (power to make regulations establishing an appeals process);

h

section 25 (general provisions regarding regulations, rules and orders);

i

section 26 (meaning of “worker”);

j

section 28 (application of the 2004 Act to Northern Ireland) in so far as it relates to paragraphs 1 to 8, 11, 19 and 21 of Schedule 2;

k

section 30 (short title and extent);

l

Schedule 1 (consequential amendments); and

m

paragraphs 1 to 8, 11, 19 and 21 of Schedule 2.
