Citation, commencement and extent

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Fish Buyers and Sellers and Designation of Fish Auction Sites Regulations 2005.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on 7th July 2005, except for regulations 4, 5, 8 and 9 which shall come into force on 1st September 2005.

[F1(3) These Regulations apply—

(a)in England;

(b)in relation to any relevant British fishing boat wherever it is, except when it is in Wales [F2or the Welsh zone]; and

(c)in relation to any other fishing boat within British fishery limits, except when the boat is in—

(i)the Northern Ireland zone (as defined in section 98 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998);

(ii)the Scottish zone (as defined in section 126(1) of the Scotland Act 1998);

(iii)the territorial sea adjacent to the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey; or

(iv)Wales [F3or the Welsh zone].]

[F4(4) In paragraph (3)(b) and (c)(iv), “Wales” and the “Welsh zone” have the same meanings as in section 158(1) of the Government of Wales Act 2006]
