In the High Court the judge may in writing nominate one or more persons to be official shorthand writers to the court.

The court may, at any time in the course of energy administration proceedings, appoint a shorthand writer to take down the evidence of a person examined under section 236 of the 1986 Act.

The remuneration of a shorthand writer appointed in energy administration proceedings shall be paid by the party at whose instance the appointment was made, or out of the assets of the protected energy company, or otherwise, as the court may direct.

Any question arising as to the rates of remuneration payable under this Rule shall be determined by the court in its discretion.
