Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order varies the application of section 127(2)(b) of the Transport Act 2000 in so far as it applies to England. Section 127(2)(b) requires a quality contracts scheme to specify the date that it comes into operation. This date must not be earlier than 21 months after the date that the quality contracts scheme is made. Where the area of the scheme is wholly in England, this Order reduces the minimum period between the date of making the scheme and the date that the scheme comes into operation to 6 months.
