SCHEDULEU.K.Amendment to the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) (Second General System) Regulations 2002

1.  The 2002 Regulations shall be amended as follows.U.K.

2.  Under Schedule 1, in the Table in Part 2 (“Directives concerning freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services or transitional measures in respect of activities”), omit the entry relating to Directive 77/92/EEC M1.U.K.

Appropriate certificate for service as second engineer officer on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 3000 kW propulsion power or more and having not less than 6 months of approved seagoing service in that capacity.

(f)Under heading “ 3. Seafaring sector, Training for the following: a) Sea transport ” the following is added after “ which represents training ” and between the entries for Italy and the Netherlands.

represents education of a total duration of at least 12 years, comprising at least 8 years of elementary education and at least 4 years of vocational education; vocational training completed by the employer's special examination; certificate of competence issued by a competent authority for 5 years.

The duration in hours and the general scope of the particular courses in the framework of the complete training for the diagnostician, are separately specified in the Minister of Infrastructure's Regulation of 28 November 2002 on detailed requirements regarding diagnosticians (OJ of 2002, No.208, item 1769).

7.  In Schedule 6, Part 1, (“Courses referable to the practice of a profession in another relevant state”)U.K.

(a)Under heading “ 1. Paramedical and childcare training courses ” the text is amended as follows:

(i)under the subheading “In Germany”, the indent “-occupational therapist (“Beschäftigungs-und Arbeitsthera-peut(in)”)“ is replaced by “-occupational therapist/erogtherapist (“Beschäftigungs- und Arbeitstherapeut/Ergotherapeut(in)”)“;

(ii)under the subheading “ In Italy ”, the indent “-chiropodist (“podologo”)“ is deleted.

(b)Under heading 4, “ Technical sector ”, the text under the subheading “ In Austria ” is amended as follows:

(i)the following indents are added:

—commercial bookkeeper (“Gewerblicher Buchhalter”), in accordance with the Trades, Crafts and Industry Act 1994 (Gewerbeordnung 1994),

—independent bookkeeper (“Selbständiger Buchhalter”), in accordance with the Act on Professions in the Field of Public Accountancy 1999 (Bundesgesetz über die Wirtschaftstreuhandberufe 1999).

(ii)the indent “- advertising and promotion agent (“Werbeagentur”)“ is deleted.

8.  In Schedule 6, Part 2, “Courses referable to the practice of a profession in the United Kingdom” under heading 5, “ United Kingdom courses accredited as National Vocational Qualifications or Scottish Vocational Qualifications ”, in the text under “Training for”, the following indent is added: “ —listed veterinary nurse ”.U.K.
