These Regulations implement Directive 2004/22/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on measuring instruments (OJ No. L135, 30.4.04, p.1) (“the Directive”) in relation to cold-water meters.

In regulation 2(2), the reference to the Weights and Measures Act 198520 shall be construed as a reference to the Weights and Measures (Northern Ireland) Order 198121.
