This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 101(4) of the Terrorism Act 2000(1) (“the 2000 Act”).
In accordance with section 101(2) of the 2000 Act, the Secretary of State has published a draft of the revised code of practice which is brought into operation by this Order, and considered representations made to him about that draft.
In accordance with section 101(3) a draft of the revised code of practice has been laid before Parliament, and a draft of this instrument has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament pursuant to section 123(4) of the 2000 Act.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State makes the following Order:
2000 c. 11. Section 101(5) allows the Secretary of State to revise the whole or part of any code of practice issued by him, and the procedures set out in sections 101(2) to (4) apply to the revised code as they apply to the original code.
