PART 11Seamen’s Documents

Interpretation

1.  In this Part—

(a)“the Regulations” means the Merchant Shipping (Seamen’s Documents) Regulations 1987(1);

(b)a reference to the holder of a document is a reference to the person to whom the document has been issued.

Lost documents, etc

2.  No fee is payable by a person who has ceased to be regarded as the holder of a British Seaman’s Card or discharge book because it has been lost, destroyed or defaced through the wreck or loss of a ship or fire on board ship.
