Strategic noise maps: general requirements4

Any strategic noise map made or revised under this Part must satisfy the applicable requirements in Schedule 1.

A competent authority under regulation 6 or 10 must apply—

a

the noise indicators Lden and Lnight as referred to in Annex I of the Directive; and

the supplementary noise indicators,

when making or revising strategic noise maps under this Part.

For the purposes of paragraph (2)(a), a reference to Annex 1 of the Directive is to be read as if, in paragraph 1, in the fourth indent that begins “the day is 12 hours”, the words from “The Member” to the end were omitted.

The values of Lden, Lnight and the supplementary noise indicators must be determined by F3computation (at the assessment position) and by means of the assessment methods set out in Annex 2 to the Directive.
