In exercise of the powers conferred on the appropriate Minister by section 11 of the Channel Tunnel Act 1987(1), the Secretary of State makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) (Amendment) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 26th October 2006.
2. After paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993(2) insert—
2A. In the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999(3) in section 141 (fingerprinting)—
(a)in subsection (7)(a) for “on his arrival in the United Kingdom” substitute “in a control zone or a supplementary control zone”;
(b)in subsection (9)(b) for his “removal or deportation from the United Kingdom” substitute “his leaving a control zone or a supplementary control zone”.”.

This Order amends the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993. It amends Schedule 4 to that Order to modify the power to take fingerprints under section 141 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 so as to apply it in the juxtaposed controls.
1987 c.53, acting as the appropriate minister as defined in section 13 of that Act.
